99 Days by Katie Cotugno

99days

Molly was always close with Julia Donnelly and her family. She grew up with them and considered the Donnelly's as her second family. Sophomore year, Molly and Patrick (Julia's twin brother) started dating and were inseparable. Until one summer, Patrick got upset with Molly and broke up with her. Molly made a huge mistake that summer. She told her mother all about it, but it does not help when your mom is a famous writer and writes about your deepest secret. Will Patrick ever forgive Molly, or will Molly be stuck in a town where everyone hates her?

Sarah was one of the first African American students to attend a newly integrated school. She believed that her first day would not be so bad, but she was wrong. There were spit balls being thrown at her, pencils were jammed into her side, and awful racial slurs screamed at her for the next two months of her high school senior year. Forced to work with a white student on a school project, Sarah and Linda must confront harsh truths about race, power and how they really feel about one another.
